AP Photo
49 of 50 states have snow on the ground today.
As we dig out from another winter snowstorm, you should know that you aren't alone today.

According to the National Weather Service, there is snow on the ground in 49 of 50 states -- including Hawaii, which has 7 inches of snow atop the dormant volcano Mauna Kea on the island of  Hawaii.

The NWS estimates that more than 70 percent of the country is covered in snow. The only state that is snow free is Florida, the Sunshine State.

UNNOTICED HEROES AFTER THE SNOW FALLS!!!

The Schools SHOULD show appreciation to the men who come in early, stay late and work overtime so the schools can be open. These men Work SO HARD to make sure that the sidewalks, steps and parking lots are as clean as possible for our kids and employees and these men NEVER get recognized for Their Work!! When the Superintendent Cancels the school day or announces that the office help can come in two hours late, believe me this Does NOT mean that our men get the day OFF! NO, it means that These Men Must be there to do their job, Clearing Snow! Many times they are out in the Wind and Very Cold temperatures!! Everyone else has the option to stay in their nice warm homes! The school does not have enough Equipment either!! Shoveling is a back breaking job as well. How would you like to shovel for six, eight or ten hours! COULD YOU?? It is time that these men are noticed and at the Very Least, Thanked for THEIR Work!!! They certainly Do Not get paid enough either!!!!
